63 31 015 Removing and installing/replacing left (or right) interior light (with panorama glass roof)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2016 BMW 328i xDrive, 2016 BMW 328d xDrive, 2015 BMW 328i xDrive, 2015 BMW 328d xDrive, and 2014 BMW 328i xDrive. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

IMPORTANT: Follow instructions for HANDLING LIGHT BULBS (INTERIOR LIGHTS) .

IMPORTANT: The interior light cannot be removed without lowering the headlining.

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove REAR LEFT GRAB HANDLE
Remove TRIM PANEL FOR TOP LEFT DOOR POST (B-PILLAR)
Remove TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LEFT ROOF PILLAR (C-PILLAR)

Version with load area net mounts:

Remove both load area net mounts (3).

Open protective cap (1).

Release screws (2) and remove load area net mounts (3).

Unclip trim panel for D-pillar (1) in the marked area (2).

Unclip headlining (1) in the marked area (2).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage. Make sure headlining is not kinked when lowering.

Release clamp (1) on interior light with screwdriver (2) by pressing on it.

Unlock and disconnect associated plug connection, remove interior light.

Replacement:

If necessary, remount bulb, check BULB TYPE .
