65 50 170 Replacing cover for Central Information Display (CID, TPO)

Special tools required: 

NOTE: These repair instructions apply to the Central Information Display (CID) of the manufacturer TPO.
IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary work: 

Release screws at marked points.

Tightening torque 65 50 3AZ .

NOTE: To tighten screws, use special tool 00 9 460 .

Remove rear cover (1) of central information display (2).

Detach adhesive tape fixation (1).

Installation note: 

A new adhesive tape is included with the replacement part delivery.

Disconnect plug connection (2).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
The wiring harness (4) can be crushed by the cover (3) at the position marked by the arrow!
Installation note:
The adhesive tape (1) of the wiring harness (4) must be applied before installation of the cover (3)!

Release screws at marked positions.

Tightening torque 65 50 2AZ .

NOTE: To tighten screws, use special tool 00 9 450 .

Feed out cable (2) from guides.

Installation note: 

Ensure correct cable routing (2).

Carefully raise latch mechanisms (1) and remove central information display cover (3).

Installation note: 

Make sure latch mechanisms (1) are heard to click into place.

Make sure cover (3) is correctly seated on central information display.
