52 14 402 Replacing seat cover for driver's seat (normal/electric)

Special tools required: 

• 52 0 050

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove INNER COVER  on front seat
• Remove SUPPORT FOR OUTER COVER 
• Remove REAR PANEL  on front seat backrest

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Feed wiring harness out of seat mechanism.

Lever out left and right clips (1).

Drill out rivet heads (1) left and right.

Detach seat cover tab from seat frame.

Installation note: 

Completely remove rivet residue.

Detach welt (1) from seat mechanism.

Release clamps in marked area.

Feed seat cover out of upholstery (1).

Release all clamps in marked area of trim wires.

Remove seat cover from upholstery.

Installation note: 

Bend new clamp (2) 52 0 050 closed with pliers.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove DRIVER'S SEAT .
• Remove REAR PANEL  on front seat backrest
• Remove INNER COVER  on driver's seat
• Remove SWITCH COMBINATION

Remove cover (1) on front seat:

• Press clip on door side outwards
• Press clip on tunnel side upwards
• Pull cover (1) forwards out of seat mechanism

Unhook seat cover on at all attachment points (1).

Unhook seat cover in marked area (1).

With seat heating only as optional equipment: 

Disconnect plug connection (2).

Remove seat cover complete with upholstery.

With climate control only as optional equipment: 

Release plug connections (1) and disconnect.

Detach all clamps in side area from longitudinal wires (1).

Pull trim wires (1) forward out of seat cover.

Carefully fold back seat cover and release clamps from cross-wires (2).

Remove seat cover from upholstery.

Replace seat cover: 

Pull trim wires out of seat cover.

Installation note: 

Slide trim threads into new seat cover.

If necessary, cut mounting for trim threads.
