52 14 010 Removing and installing/replacing both seat rails on left or right front seat

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove driver's or front passenger seat . See 52 14 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE or 52 14 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE
Remove lower strap . See 72 11 071 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LOWER BELT FITTING (BELT TENSIONER), PASSENGER SEAT or 72 11 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LOWER BELT FITTING (BELT TENSIONER), DRIVER'S SEAT (belt tensioner)
Remove COVERS FOR TOP RAIL

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) on drive unit for forward/back seat adjustment.

Release left and right screws (1).

Tightening torque 52 10 06AZ .

Release nuts (2) on left and right on carrier plate.

Remove seat rails with motor carrier plate.

Replacement only:

Release screws (1).

Detach left or right seat rail from flex-shaft.

Detach motor retaining plate with drive and flex-shaft from opposite seat rail.

Installation note:

PTFE hoses are shrink-fitted onto end pieces.

Check that hoses are free from damage.
