41 11 565 Replace Sill In Vicinity Of Left C-Pillar (Rear Side Panel Removed) (Hybrid)

Compliance with the following points is mandatory before beginning work:

DISCONNECT HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM FROM POWER .
Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for handling electric vehicles.

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS for repairs.

The following new body parts are required:

Entrance, rear
(component is included on new side panel part)

Removing sill section

Mark severance cut in accordance with dimension and cut.

IMPORTANT: Cut outer panel only.

Dimension a = approx. 100 mm from center point of 15 mm dia. hole.

Open welded connections in area (1).

Remove the entrance section.

Installation note:

Apply repair welding spots in area (1) to existing welding spots on new component/vehicle. This is necessary because the adhesive between the spot flanges acts as an insulator.

Weld in REINFORCEMENT PLATE at severance cut.

Preparation of new part:

Open welded connections in area (1).

Remove sill section (2).

Installing sill section

Install new part and weld.
