67 11 555 Removing and installing/replacing servodrive for tank filler flap

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove TOP TRIM FROM TAIL PANEL .

Remove cover (1).

Detach fuel filler flap emergency release (1).

Lift out expanding rivets (2).

Release screw (3).

Remove lashing eye (4).

Press wheel arch panel (5) carefully to the side.

Installation:

Make sure side rubber seal (6) is correctly seated.

Slacken screws (1)

Carefully feed servodrive (3) out of guides (4).

Unlock plug connection (5) and disconnect.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage:
To prevent damaging locking pin guide (2), do not tilt servodrive (3).

Installation:

Make sure the actuator drive (3) is correctly set. It must be possible to lock or unlock the tank filler flap completely.

Replacement:

Unhook emergency actuation pull strap (2) from retainer (1) and remove from locking pin (3) of servodrive (4).

Turn sleeve (1) with a suitable tool (e.g. pointed pliers) approx. 45° in direction of arrow and pull out of receptacle (2).

Installation:

Make sure sleeve (1) is correctly seated on locking pin for tank filler flap (2).
