12 51 245 Replacing the wiring harness section for the engine transmission module (N20)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove intake PLENUM .
- Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove right SUSPENSION CROSS-BRACE .
Overview of the wiring harness section for the engine transmission module.
Disconnect connectors (1) and (2) and release from the carrier plate (3).
Disconnect all connectors from engine wiring harness on the carrier plate and release from the carrier plate (3).
Installation note:
Make sure rubber grommets are correctly fitted (watertightness).
Unclip grommet hold-down device (1).
Release wiring harnesses (2) from bulkhead.

| Unlock connector on air conditioning compressor and disconnect | |
| Unlock connector on starter motor and disconnect | |
| Release ground cable of crankcase | |
| Unlock and disconnect connector for wiring harness section of engine sensor system module 1 | |
| Unlock and disconnect connector on reversing light switch | Manual gearbox only |
| Unlock and disconnect connector from control unit on transfer box | All-wheel drive vehicles only |
| Unlock connector on transmission and disconnect | Automatic transmission only |
Release wiring harness if necessary from existing clips and clamps.
Feed out wiring harness and remove.
Installation note:
Check wiring harness installation arrangement.
Check plug connections for correct fit.
Check stored fault message.
Delete fault memory.
