12 31 020 Removing and installing or replacing alternator (S63 B44 T 0)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Switch off ignition.
Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
Remove DRIVE BELT FOR ALTERNATOR .
Remove FUEL DELIVERY LINE .

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Cover radiator.

Unclip all cables (1) and coolant lines from brackets.

Release screws (1).

Place auxiliary water pump to one side.

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 12 31 1AZ .

Put cable clip aside.

Feed out alternator and remove.

NOTE: Check stored fault message.
Reassemble the vehicle.
Delete fault memory.
