17 51 000 Removing And Installing/Replacing Charge Air Cooler (N55 Hybrid)

WARNING: High-voltage system - danger to life!
The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work:

Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for handling hybrid cars.

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .

IMPORTANT: Coat sealing rings of snap fasteners with lubricant.
Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque: 17 10 2AZ .

Removing charge air cooler cover (2).

Unlock left charge air duct (1) on charge air cooler and detach.

Unlock charge air cooler (2) towards front from bracket.

Unlock right charge air duct (1) on charge air cooler and detach.

Unlock charge air cooler (2) towards front from bracket.

Unlock charge air cooler (1) towards front from brackets and remove towards bottom.

Installation note:

Charge air hoses must audibly snap into place.

Coat sealing rings of charge air hoses with lubricant.

Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.

Check charge air system for leaks.

Assemble engine.
