61 31 221 Removing and installing/replacing both multifunction steering wheel switches

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove airbag unit . See 32 34 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG UNIT (SPORT STEERING WHEEL) or 32 34 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG UNIT
Release both shift paddles if necessary

Release screws (1) on left/right on back of steering wheel (2).

NOTE: Both multifunction steering wheel switches (1) are connected to each other by the wiring harness (2).

Feed wiring harness (2) out of steering wheel.

Remove both multifunction steering wheel switches (1) in direction of arrow.

Disconnect plug connection (1) and remove both multifunction steering wheel switches (2).

Installation note:

Make sure electrical wiring is correctly routed.
