51 16 041 Removing and installing/replacing protective cap on left or right exterior mirror (from 07/13)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove MIRROR GLASS

NOTE: Protective cap is secured without play to the retaining ring by means of multitooth catches (1).

Secure protective cap on exterior mirror against falling off.

Raise catches (2) slightly and detach protective cap towards front from multitooth catch (1).
