00 11 259 Oil change in rear axle final drive incl. used oil disposal

IMPORTANT: Risk of burning if exhaust system is touched!
DANGER OF POISONING if oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin!
RISK OF INJURY if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!

IMPORTANT: Use only the approved FINAL DRIVE OIL .
Failure to comply with this instruction will result in serious damage to the rear axle differential.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of emerging final drive oil.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations

NOTE: Only change oil when rear axle final drive is at normal operating temperature.

Place oil collecting apparatus underneath.

Open screw plug (1).

Drain and dispose of final drive oil.

Screw in new screw plug (1).

Tightening torque 33 11 2AZ .

Open screw plug (2).

Open and tighten the screw plug (2) using:
- Torque wrench 3/8"
- Reduction 1/2" to 3/8"
- 1/2" spanner socket AF 14

Tightening torque 33 11 2AZ .

Top up final drive oil until it emerges from oil filler opening.

Installation note:

Renew screw plugs (1 and 2).
