33 34 070 Removing and installing/renewing integral active steering
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Lower REAR AXLE SUPPORT .
- REMOVE BOTH TOE LINKS .
Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) from steering.
Release screw (2) and remove grounding cable.
Tightening torque 33 34 4AZ .
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 33 34 2AZ .
Undo collar bolts (2).
Tightening torque 33 34 1AZ .
Installation note:
Observe assembly sequence at end of the information to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.
Release bolts (1) and remove Integral Active Steering towards bottom.
Tightening torque 33 34 3AZ .
Installation note:
Observe assembly sequence at end of the information to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.
Fasten screws and nuts on the Integral Active Steering at the rear axle support, see Fig 5.
After installation:
- Perform Integral Active Steering startup using the diagnosis system (service function/steering test).
- Carry out wheel alignment procedure . See 32 00 150 KDS CHASSIS/WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK WITH VEHICLE LOAD UP TO DESIGN POSITION or 32 00 155 KDS WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK WITH RIDE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT WITHOUT VEHICLE LOAD .
