32 41 430 Replacing Dynamic Drive Expandable Hose Section 1 (From Hydraulic Pump To Expandable Hose) (N57)

Special tools required:

32 1 270

WARNING: DANGER OF POISONING if oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin!
DANGER OF INJURY if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!

IMPORTANT: Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Do not draw off hydraulic fluid (risk of contamination).
Close off line connections with seal plug. 32 1 270

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable collecting vessel.

IMPORTANT: Pressure line and connections must be provided with suitable seal plugs 32 1 270 immediately after removal!

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove ARS RETURN LINE SECTION 2 .
Mark position of EPS steering box relative to front axle support, then detach and lower. See 32 13 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC STEERING BOX (EPS) or 32 13 075 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRICAL STEERING BOX ACTIVE STEERING .

Release screws (1) from flange.

Tightening torque: 37 13 8AZ .

Remove nuts (2) from holder on front axle support.

Tightening torque: 32 41 12AZ .

Remove screws (1) from line clip on power steering pump.

Tightening torque: 32 41 14AZ .

Remove bolt (1) and nut (2) from brackets on transmission.

Undo screws (1) and pull expandable hose off vane pump.

Tightening torque: 32 41 13AZ .

Installation note:

Replace sealing rings.

Make sure hydraulic lines are laid without tension and with sufficient distance to adjoining components.

Remove expandable hose towards rear (transmission end).

IMPORTANT: When assembling, make sure that in succession only the seal plugs of the line to be fitted are removed.
When fitting lines, do not tilt connectors (sealing rings!) and connect fully before screwing.

After installation:

Carry out START-UP DYNAMIC DRIVE OPERATION .
Check line connections for tightness.
