32 41 425 Replacing Expandable Hose Part 1 For Hydraulic Steering (S63)

Recycling: 

Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable collecting vessel.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from oil reservoir.
• Remove FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Remove COVER FOR STEERING ASSEMBLIES on left and right.
• Remove STIFFENING PLATE .
• Release UNIVERSAL JOINT  from hydraulic steering gear.
• Mark HYDRAULIC STEERING GEAR  with respect to front axle support, release and pull towards front.
• REMOVE drive belt for alternator.

Loosen screws (1) of the line clip.

Tightening torque: 32 41 7AZ .

Release screw connection (1) of the line and place expandable hose Part 2 aside.

Tightening torque: 32 41 15AZ .

Release screws (1) and turn the power steering pump (2) to the side to be able to loosen the screwed line connection!

Tightening torque: 32 41 9AZ .

Release the banjo bolt (1) of the pressure line.

Tightening torque: 32 41 6AZ .

Release screw (2) and remove line in downward direction.

Tightening torque: 32 41 16AZ .

Installation note: 

Replace all sealing rings.

Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.

After installation: 

• Fill and bleed HYDRAULIC SYSTEM .
• Check pipe connections for leaks.
