32 41 037 Removing And Installing Power Steering Pump For Hydraulic Steering Gear With Dynamic Drive (N57)
RISK OF INJURY if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!
Seal off hydraulic lines with seal plugs.
FLUID RESERVOIR must be replaced in event of metal abrasion, sluggish pump shaft or increased wear!
The filter integrated in the oil reservoir can only absorb a limited amount of foreign particles. If the filter clogs, the hydraulic system can no longer be sufficiently protected.
Metal abrasion is perceived in the oil reservoir as metallically glittering hydraulic fluid.
Replacement of the oil reservoir due to a leak (e.g. at the hose connections) is only required with unavoidable high penetrations of dirt.
Necessary preliminary work:
- REMOVE UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove front stiffening plate (F12 all-wheel drive vehicle only).
- Remove acoustic cover (only N57 up to 09/2011).
- Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING (N57 only up to 09/2011).
- Remove INTAKE PORT .
- Remove left pressure pipe (except N57S1).
- Remove FAN COWL .
- Remove coolant expansion tank and oil reservoir and set aside.
- Remove power steering pump BELT PULLEY .
Release hose clamp (1) and detach intake pipe from power steering pump.
Disconnect plug connections (2) and (3).
Release screws (4) and detach expandable hose from power steering pump.
Tightening torque: 32 41 13AZ .
Release screw (5) and detach expandable hose from power steering pump.
Tightening torque: 32 14 6AZ
Installation note:
Replace all sealing rings.
Make sure hydraulic lines are laid without tension and with sufficient distance to adjoining components.
The identification (P) of the intake pipe and the rib of the power steering pump serve as a rough aid to alignment.
Release screws (1) on holder (2).
Tightening torque: 32 41 16AZ
Only F01/F02/F07:
Release bolt (1) on power steering pump at rear.
Tightening torque: 32 41 9AZ
Release bolts (1) and remove power steering pump towards top.
Tightening torque: 32 41 9AZ
After installation:
- Fill and bleed HYDRAULIC SYSTEM .
- Check line connections for leaks.
- Carry out START-UP FOR ARS .
