26 Additional work on four-wheel drive vehicles after driving with defective (non-engaging) drive

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 21 other vehicles, including the 2017 BMW 550i GT xDrive, 2017 BMW 535i GT xDrive, 2017 BMW 535i GT, 2016 BMW 550i GT xDrive, and 2016 BMW 535i GT xDrive. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: If the vehicle has been moved under engine power with a non-engaging drive system (e.g. front propeller shaft defective and no longer engaging with the front differential or 1 output shaft no longer engaging with drive flange), it is imperative that the transfer box is calibrated after repairing the propeller shaft/output shaft(s).

After completing repairs, perform calibration using BMW diagnosis and information system and selecting Control unit function - Function check - Transfer box.
