51 13 316 Removing and installing or replacing trim strip on roof gutter at left or right

Special tools required: 

IMPORTANT: Make sure that body is not damaged.

Open door at front and rear.

Release edge protection in C-pillar area.

Pull off gasket (1) in rear area toward the bottom.

Release screw (2).

Tightening torque 51 13 6AZ .

Starting from the rear, use special tool 00 9 325 to detach trim strip (1) from clips (2).

Installation note: 

To avoid leaks and noises, check all clamps (2) for visible damage.

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).

Align clamps (2) on body and fit trim strip (1).

IMPORTANT:
  • Carry trim strip by its middle section only (risk of damage)
  • Perform installation work with a second person helping
  • Prepositioning of trim strip
  • Ensure gutter strip runs parallel to side frame (risk of breakage)
