51 31 310 Removing and installing upper rear lid cover

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unscrew nuts (3).

Tightening torque 51 71 1AZ .

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 51 71 1AZ .

Close rear lid (4) and unclip clips (1). Remove rear lid cover.

IMPORTANT: Carefully remove cover in upward direction from rear lid (4) (with aid of a 2nd person) and place on a clean surface.

Installation: 

Clips (3), slider (1) and bump stop (4) must not be damaged.

Carry out height adjustment (A) of rear lid cover (5) via 16 mm WAF adjusting screws (6) (bihexagonal).

Make sure there is a uniform gap all round.

Measure under-protrusion with special tool 51 0 010 :

A 1±1 mm

B 5±1 mm

X 1...4 mm
