13 71 195 Removing and installing/replacing right clean air pipe \PREMIUM

Overview of Activities 

Preprocesses 

  1. Remove acoustic cover
  2. Remove left intake silencer housing

    Keyprocesses 

  3. Remove right clean air pipe
  4. Install right clean air pipe

    Postprocesses 

  5. Install left intake silencer housing
  6. Install acoustic cover

Overview of Tightening Torques 

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Clean-air pipe to turbocharger 
M6 10 Nm

Preprocesses 

  1. Remove acoustic cover 
    • Raise acoustic cover (1).
    • Remove acoustic cover (1) in the direction of travel.

  2. Remove left intake silencer housing 
    • Loosen clamps (1).
    • Disconnect connector (2) at the hot film air mass meter.
    • Release clamp (3).
    • Pull off intake silencer housing from the top.

      Keyprocesses 

  3. Remove right clean air pipe 
    • Version 1: 
      1. Unlock the retainer.
      2. At the same time, pull off connecting line from clean air pipe.

    • Version 2: 
    • Lightly pull line (1) in the direction of the arrow.

      Simultaneously, unlock the latch mechanisms (2) one after the other using a screwdriver (3).

      Pull off connecting line from clean air pipe.

    • Release screw (1).
    • Pull clean air pipe (2) from exhaust turbocharger.

  4. Install right clean air pipe 
    • Check the gasket on the clean air pipe.
    • Replace faulty gasket.
    • Position clean air pipe (2) on exhaust turbocharger.
    • Tighten down screw (1).
      TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

      Clean-air pipe to turbocharger 
      M6 10 Nm

    • Version 1: 
      NOTE: Ensure correct locking of all the retaining lugs. Retaining lugs must audibly snap into place.
    • Attach connecting line to clean air pipe.

    • Version 2: 
      NOTE: Ensure correct locking of all the retaining lugs. Retaining lugs must audibly snap into place.
    • Attach connecting line (1) with the latch mechanisms (2) to clean air pipe.

      Postprocesses 

  5. Install left intake silencer housing 
    • Connect intake silencer housing.
    • Attach clamp (3).
    • Connect connector (2) on the hot film air mass meter.
    • Attach clamps (1).

  6. Install acoustic cover 
    NOTE: Ensure correct fit!
    • Insert acoustic cover (1) into existing rubber guides.
