63 31... Removing and installing/replacing fibre optic conductor of door panel, top rear

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Fibre optic conductors are sensitive (risk of damage). Always handle carefully.

Necessary preliminary tasks 

Carefully detach fibre optic conductor (1) from LED module (3) (retainer).

Installation: 

LED-module (3) must lock into position (light distribution).

Upper fibre optic conductor 

Use special tool 64 1 020 to unclip fibre optic conductor (3) from retaining clips (1) in door panel (2) and remove.

Installation: 

The fibre optic conductor (3) must be securely locked in the retaining clips (1) on the door trim panel (2).

Installation: 

Check fibre optic conductor (1) for damage (scratches or cracks), replace if necessary.
