41 14 504 Replacing Rear Right Outer Wheel Arch Section Partial Replacement (Side Wall Removed)

Procedure OBSERVE repair stage 2!

Following new body parts are required (refer to Electronic Parts Catalogue):

(1) Side frame, inside rear
(2) Shaped part, entrance, outer (not shown)

Following CONSUMABLES are required:

Blind rivets N3	16
Cleaning agent R1	1
Cavity sealing wax remover	1
Sealant D1

Removal of outer wheel arch section

Mark severance cut (1) next to C-pillar reinforcement (2) and cut

IMPORTANT: Severance cut in area (5) not permitted!

Open welded connections in area (3).

Remove cavity acoustic baffle (4).

Preparation of new part

Mark new part in accordance with severance cut on vehicle + 20 mm extra material and cut.

Adjust new parts in combination with side wall to fit and secure.

NOTE: Side panel omitted for clarity.

Set sixteen 4.2 mm dia. holes for blind rivets N3 in bonding surfaces (1).

Remove new part and deburr holes.

Installation of outer wheel arch section

IMPORTANT: Do not grind/sand new part in area of bonding surfaces.

Clean all bonding surfaces on new part and on vehicle with cleaning agent R1.

Apply adhesive to bonding surfaces.

Apply sealant to CAVITY SEALING .

Install and rivet wheel arch outer part in connection with side panel.
