54 10 260 Removing and installing front section of panorama glass roof

Necessary preliminary tasks

Lower ROOFLINER (complete removal not necessary).
Remove GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF COVER at front.
Completely open sliding headlining.
Open tailgate.

IMPORTANT: Two persons are required to help in removing the glass slide/tilt sunroof.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Removed front section of panorama glass roof must only be placed on a level support.
Do not rest front section of panorama glass roof on the cross members.
Lay front section of panorama glass roof broadly across side frame.

Unlock plug connection (1) from front powertrain and disconnect.

Unlock plug connection (1) on rear powertrain and disconnect.

IMPORTANT: Airbag wiring and wiring for Bluetooth aerial must not be damaged.

Detach all metal clips together with wiring from glass slide/tilt sunroof frame on left and right.

Installation note:

Route airbag wiring and Bluetooth aerial wiring so that they are not under tension or kinked.

Unlock and unplug plug connection (1) from Bluetooth aerial.

Detach water drain hoses (1)
NOTE: Check hoses for damage and coat with water before installation

Check water drain hoses for continuity. Clean water drain hoses as required.
Release screws in marked area
Tightening torque 54 12 02AZ .

An assistant must secure glass slide/tilt sunroof to prevent it falling out.
Release screws in marked area and carefully lower glass slide/tilt sunroof.
Tightening torque 54 12 02AZ .

IMPORTANT: Do not damage any surrounding components when removing the glass slide/tilt sunroof.

Remove glass slide/tilt sunroof through tailgate.

Replacement

Carry out vehicle programming/encoding

IMPORTANT: Do not crush any cables when installing the glass slide/tilt sunroof.

Installation note:

To align panorama glass roof to body aperture, insert screws and tighten loosely.

Panorama glass roof must still be able to move in the body aperture.

On account of leaks, panorama glass roof must be exactly aligned to body aperture.

54 1 110 Insert special tool into centering bores up to limit position in panorama glass roof and body.

Tighten down screws.

Tightening torque 54 12 02AZ .

Initialize glass slide/tilt sunroof.
