51 16 181 Replacing center console carrier

Necessary preliminary tasks 

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on HANDLING WIRING HARNESSES and cables.

Unfasten screws (2).

Installation: 

Replace self-locking screws (2).

Tightening torque 51 16 4AZ .

If necessary, disconnect plug connection from aerial for comfort access (1).

Release screws (1).

Installation: 

Replace self-locking screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 16 4AZ .

Disconnect plug connection from rear compartment blower.

Unfasten screws (2).

Raise center console carrier (3) slightly and pull out wiring harness.

Remove carrier.

Modify rear compartment air duct (2)

Modify all plastic nuts (1).

Installation: 

Replace defective nuts.

Release screws (1) from front bracket (2) and remove bracket.

Perform additional work steps according to equipment specification: 

Release screws (3) from front compartment blower (4) and remove blower.

Release screw (1) from aerial for comfort access (3) and remove aerial.

Modify plastic nut (2).

Installation: 

Replace defective nut.
