51 45... Removing and installing / replacing left cover on instrument panel

Special tools required: 

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Pull off seal (1) in the area of the instrument panel cover (2).

Unclip instrument panel cover (2) at the side, as illustrated, using special tool 00 9 325 .

Different versions: 

Graphic A shows cover version up to 12/2009

Graphic B shows cover version from 12/2009

Installation note: 

Retaining tabs on cover (1) or (1) and (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Replacement 

Only applies to F07 up to 12/2009

As only the new version of the cover (Graphic B) is obtainable from the BMW Parts Department, remove retaining tab (2) before fitting as shown in Graphic A.
