51 41 000 Removing and installing (replacing) front left or right door trim panel

Special tools required:

00 9 321

Necessary preliminary tasks

Remove DECORATIVE STRIP FROM DOOR TRIM PANEL

IMPORTANT: Adhere to the correct sequence without fail, otherwise the door trim panel will break.
Do not under any circumstances pull on map pocket.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 41 1AZ .

Starting in B-pillar area, unclip shoulder with special tool 00 9 321 from retainers (1).

Unclip retainer (1) with special tool 00 9 321 .

Unclip clips (1) in direction of arrow by gripping with hand.

Unclip retainer (1) with special tool 00 9 321 .

IMPORTANT: Do not lever off door trim panel (1) over dimension (A) from inner door panel.
Door trim panel (2) (risk of damage) in area (1)

A. = 30 mm

IMPORTANT: Centre retainer (1) twist knob (2) separation only possible by moving.

IMPORTANT: Pull door trim panel by handle recess gently in direction (1), gently strike armrest with fist in direction (2) to release door trim panel from inner door panel.

Disengage Bowden cable (1) for release lever first at counterholder (2) and then at door lock (3).

Unlock and disconnect all plug connections, then remove door trim panel.

Installation:

If necessary, replace clips (1), color: grey.

Check center retainer (2) for damage, replace if necessary.

Fit door trim panel, make sure retainers are correctly seated and press down in sequence A - D.

Installation:

After assembling the door trim panel proceed as follows:

Open door window
Lock with ignition key
Check for ease-of-movement on locking knob linkage
If necessary, align linkage
