51 31 242 Replacing rubber frame (bottom) for rear window

Special tools required: 

Observe NOTES  for securing components with adhesive tape.

Clean rear window (4) in area (3).

Pretreat adhesive area (3) of rubber frame (1) along the lower window edge and mark (2) with primer 205.

Wipe immediately with a clean cloth so as to retain primer transparency.

Installation note: 

Rubber frame (1) is positioned over center marks (2 and 3).

(2) Centre mark on rear window

(3) Centre mark on rear window

Start bonding rubber frame (1) at center mark (2).

Pull off liner (5) approx. 100 mm and gently affix rubber frame (1).

Profile of lip (3) must rest correctly against edge (4) of rear window.

Do not exert any elongation on the rubber frame when bonding.

Bond rubber frame over the full length and press down with special tool 51 0 300 .

IMPORTANT: In area (A) make sure that the rubber frame rests correctly and without bubbles on the rear window
Especially in the area of the end pieces, make sure there is a clean bonding.
