Exhaust turbocharger

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 45 other vehicles, including the 2016 BMW M5, 2016 BMW 550i xDrive, 2016 BMW 550i, 2016 BMW 535i xDrive, and 2016 BMW 535i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The engine S63 TOP has 2 exhaust turbochargers with twin-scroll technology. The turbine wheels and compressors have also been revised. The change to the turbine wheels increased the flow rate and efficiency at low speeds of the exhaust turbocharger. Due to this change, the exhaust turbocharger is less sensitive to pumps. Therefore, a blow-off valve is not needed. The exhaust turbocharger has the known structure with a vacuum controlled wastegate valve.

The graphic below shows the exhaust manifold and cross-bank exhaust turbochargers with twin-scroll.
