Shift paddle and programmable buttons

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 45 other vehicles, including the 2016 BMW M5, 2016 BMW 550i xDrive, 2016 BMW 550i, 2016 BMW 535i xDrive, and 2016 BMW 535i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Alternatively, a manual shifting is possible using the standard shift paddles on the steering wheel. The right shift paddle is pulled for shifting up and the left shift paddle is pulled for shifting down.

For the first time, two programmable M Drive buttons on the steering wheel are available for storing and individually configured setting. Advantage for the driver: By pressing just one button, the driver can switch from the setting for a comfortable driving style to the tuning for markedly sporty driving style.

In each case, the selected program remains activated until the swtich-off by pressing the button again, respectively, until the change to a different M Drive tuning. After switching off and likewise after the engine start, the vehicle setting oriented for efficiency and driving comfort is again available.
