Reverse gear switch

The high-beam headlights are not switched on if reverse gear is engaged. In manual-shift vehicles, the reverse gear switch supplies the "reverse gear engaged" information. For vehicles with electronic transmission control (EGS), the EGS control unit supplies the information "Reverse gear engaged".
