Automatic alignment of the high-beam assistant
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 45 other vehicles, including the 2016 BMW M5, 2016 BMW 550i xDrive, 2016 BMW 550i, 2016 BMW 535i xDrive, and 2016 BMW 535i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
In order to operate correctly, the image sensor must be aligned parallel with the vehicle's center axis. When the car is driven at night, the high-beam assistant can automatically correct alignment up to 3° to the left or 3° to the right. This correction compensates for minor deviations from the center axis.
Driving conditions for automatic directional alignment of the high-beam assistant are:
- Straight-ahead driving for a distance of approx. 50 km: A relatively straight stretch accelerates the directional alignment.
- Road marking must be clearly visible.
