11 65 180 Removing and installing/replacing heat shield at top (N63 O1)

IMPORTANT: Do not carry out test drives without heat shield (risk of fire.)  .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release retaining clip (1).

Detach wire ring (2) and set down behind oxygen sensor.

Release bolts (1) through 180°.

Tightening torque 11 65 3AZ .

Release bolts (1) through 180°.

Tightening torque 11 65 3AZ .

Lift out heat shield.

Installation note: 

Clip in heat shield (1) into retaining clip, see arrow.

Assemble engine.
