17 51 020 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Auxiliary Water Pump For Charge Air Cooler (N63 B40/B44 O 0/1)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Check stored fault message.
• Switch off ignition.
• Remove fan cowl  . See 17 11 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/RENEWING FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN (N63)  or 17 11 035 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING THE FAN COWL WITH ELECTRIC FAN (N63 B40/B44 O 1) .
• Drain coolant for charge air cooler.

Unlock connector (1) and remove.

Unlock and detach coolant hose (2).

Release clamp (3) and detach coolant hose.

Release screw (4).

Remove auxiliary water pump.

After completing repair work, top charge air cooler up with coolant.

Vent COOLING SYSTEM FOR CHARGE AIR COOLER .

Check cooling system for tightness.

Assemble engine.

Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.

Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
