Fault description

Diagnosis monitors the electrical connection between DME and the exhaust VANOS solenoid valve.

The fault is detected when there is an open circuit (break).

Possible fault cause:

• There is an open circuit (break) on the line from the DME to the exhaust VANOS solenoid valve.
• Power supply to exhaust VANOS solenoid valve defective
• Exhaust VANOS solenoid valve defective
