Diagnosis monitors the correct execution of control unit-internal operations.

(Here the ratio of injected fuel to air mass)

The fault is detected when the air mass/lambda is implausible in relation to the injected fuel.

Possible cause of fault:

• Secondary fault caused by oxygen sensor fault
• Secondary fault caused by fault in fuel supply
• Secondary fault caused by fault in air supply
• DME defective
