17 13 020 Removing And Installing/Replacing Expansion Tank For Charge Air Cooler (S63 B44 T 0)

IMPORTANT: Risk of scalding!
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

FOLLOW instructions for repair work on the cooling system.
Remove ACOUSTIC COVER .
Disconnect coolant hose (not plastic tubes) from expansion tank for charge air cooler.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque: 17 10 6AZ .

Slightly raise expansion tank (3).

Release and disconnect coolant hoses (2).

Press in locks (1) and pull off tank ventilation lines.

Do not use disconnection pliers to disconnect plastic tubes!

Catch and dispose of escaping coolant.

Remove charge air cooler expansion tank.

After completing repair work, top charge air cooler up with coolant.

Check cooling system for charge air cooler for leaks.
