11 12 005 Removing and Installing/Sealing Left Cylinder Head Cover (N63O1)

Special Tools Required: 

• 11 4 470 .

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Disconnect NEGATIVE TERMINAL .
• Remove ACOUSTIC COVER .
• Remove Left INTERCOOLER .
• Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
• Remove Coolant Valve for Heater Feed Line.
• Disconnect FUEL DELIVERY LINE .
• Detach Wiring Harness for Injectors and Lay To One Side.
• Remove IGNITION COILS , Cylinders 5-8.
• Remove HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .
• Remove INJECTORS , Cylinders 5-8.
• Remove VACUUM PUMP .
• Remove CATALYTIC CONVERTER for Cylinders 1-4.
• Remove CATALYTIC CONVERTERS , Cylinders 5-8.

Release Screws (1).

Remove Heat Shield (2).

Tightening torque: 11 65 4AZ .

Release Screw Connections In The Sequence (16 To 1).

Remove Cylinder Head Cover.

Graphic Shows Engine S63T1.

Clean Sealing Surface (1) with Special Tool 11 4 470 .

Installation Note: 

Replace Profile Seals (1 and 2) of Cylinder Head Cover.

Installation Note: 

It Is Important To Join Screw (15 and 16) for Exact Positioning of The Camshaft Sensors.

Mount Cylinder Head Covers.

Position Screw (15 and 16).

Release Screws Again By A 90° Turn.

Secure Cylinder Head Cover In Sequence (1 To 17) In Two Work Steps.

Tightening torque 11 12 3AZ .

Assemble Engine.
