51 24 004 Adjusting rear lid lock

Prerequisite:

Rear lid must be correctly adjusted to fit; if necessary, ADJUST REAR LID .

For ideal adjustment, refer to 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

NOTE: The operation is shown on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

Release clamps (1).

Feed out trim panel (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1).

Slacken screws (1) until striker (3) can be moved.

Move striker (3) in direction of arrow.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 24 2AZ .

Check alignment of tailgate and striker, readjust if necessary.

If necessary, remove supports (2) or insert additional ones.
