52 14 820 Replace left or right seat rail

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove lower strap. See REMOVING FRONT LOWER STRAP FITTING, DRIVER'S SEAT or REMOVING FRONT LOWER STRAP FITTING, FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .
- Remove CONTROL UNIT FOR SEAT ADJUSTMENT
- Dismantle INERTIA REEL .
- Dismantle END FITTING from the seat rail.
Removal:
Unclip wiring harness (1) from the seat rail (2).
Give counter support to screws (1) (do not turn) and release the nuts.
Remove seat rail.
Installation:
Lubricate marked contact surfaces with Klubersynth LF 44-22 (Tnr. 83 23 0 396 713) lubricating grease.
Insert screw (1) with greased plastic washer (2).
Mount seat rail (3).
NOTE:
hexagon head of the screw (1) must correctly sit in the hexagon head (4) of the seat rail (3).
Give counter support to screws (1) (do not turn) and tighten the nuts.
Tightening torque 52 10 3AZ .
Clip in wiring harness (1) from the seat rail (2).
Required follow-up work:
- Install lower strap. See REMOVING FRONT LOWER STRAP FITTING, DRIVER'S SEAT or REMOVING FRONT LOWER STRAP FITTING, FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .
- Mount INERTIA REEL
- Install CONTROL UNIT FOR SEAT ADJUSTMENT .
- Mount END FITTING on the seat rail.
