Cylinder head cover
Based on the changes to the crankcase ventilation, the cylinder head cover had to be redesigned.
A labyrinth oil separator that is integrated in the cylinder head cover is used to separate the oil that is contained in the blow-by gas. A pre-separator and a fine-separating plate with small air vents are located in the direction of the through-flow. A deflector with upstream fleece provides for further separation of oil particles. The oil return is equipped with a non-return valve to prevent direct suction of blow-by gases without separation. The cleaned blow-by gases are routed to the vacuum system depending on the operating condition, either via non-return valve or volume control valve. The additional line from the crankcase ventilation to the air intake system is omitted because the corresponding bore holes are integrated in the cylinder head for the individual intake ports. Each cylinder bank has its own crankcase ventilation.
The positioning of the camshaft sensors on the cylinder head cover is new. One camshaft sensor each are installed for the intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft for each cylinder bank.
