72 11 033 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right seat belt

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove REAR SIDE TRIM PANEL

Installation: 

• Microencapsulated screws (Loctite) must be replaced and may not  be reused
• Screw connection must be completed within 20 minutes (start of curing)
• Microencapsulated screws must not  be retightened
• Clean thread of nut beforehand in event of repeated use

Move seat fully upwards.

Unlock release tab (2) for belt anchor fitting trim (1) with plastic wedge.

Simultaneously unclip trim (1) in direction of arrow.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 72 11 02AZ .

Remove hook (2) for lower belt guide.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 72 11 03AZ .

Remove deflection fitting (2).

Installation: 

Deflection fitting (2) is coded against incorrect installation.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 72 11 01AZ .

US only: 

Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.

Remove inertia reel unit (2).

Installation: 

Inertia reel unit (2) is coded against incorrect installation.
