63 21 101 Replacing sealing frame for left or right rear light

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove REAR LIGHT 

Carefully release sealing frame (1) from rear light (2) at latch mechanisms.

If necessary, release screws (3) on sealing frame (1).

Remove sealing frame (1) from rear light (2).

Installation note: 

Gasket on sealing frame (1) must not be damaged.

Replacement: 

On vehicles with production date up to 12/09/2013  the rear light previous version  is installed. Following additional work is only necessary for these vehicles:

• Check on replacement part whether attachment eyes (2; 3) are present, if yes:

  Remove attachment eye (3) from sealing frame (1).

• Lock sealing frame (1) on rear light.

Replacement: 

On vehicles with production date from 12/09/2013  the rear light new version  is installed. Following additional work is only necessary for these vehicles:

• Check on replacement part whether attachment eyes (2; 3) are present, if yes:

  Secure sealing frame (1) to rear light with screws (2; 3).

  (Screws are not included in delivery specification  of new sealing frame!)

• Lock sealing frame (1) on rear light.
