41 21 512 Replace Inside Panel Of The Door Post (Door Post Removed)

Spot-weld bonding is used in the vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS  for repairs.

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Observe procedure for REPAIR STAGE 3 .

Following new body parts are required:

Material Quantity
Adhesive K1 1
Blind rivets N1 6
Cleaning agent R1 1
Sealant D1  

Removing the inside panel of the door post 

View from inside.

Open welded connections in areas (1).

Open welded connections in areas (1).

Open SPOT-WELDED ADHESIVE JOINTS  in area (2).

Remove the inside panel of the door post.

New part preparation 

Adjust new part to fit with set of attachments or universal mount.

New part is attached in this area (2) using adhesive riveting technology.

In this area (2) drill 6 bore holes with Ø 6.8 mm for BLIND RIVETS N1 .

NOTE: Note attachment of the door post when selecting the rivet positions!

Remove new part and deburr bore hole.

Prepare the BONDING SURFACES .

Fitting the inside panel of the door post 

Clean bonding surfaces with cleaning agent R1.

Apply ADHESIVE K1  to bonding surfaces.

Install new parts using an alignment bracket or universal mount.

Rivet new part around the bonding surface.

Weld the new parts in the remaining joint areas.

When welding the new parts, ensure that the adhesive joints of adjoining components are not damaged by the application of heat.
