41 12 653 Replacing Luggage Compartment Floor, Left Section (Tail Panel And Side Panel Removed)

Observe procedure for REPAIR STAGE 2 .

Following new body parts are required:

Adhesive K5a 1
Blind rivets N3 9
Blind rivets N6 6
Punch rivets N4 4
EMC screws 4
Cleaning agent R1 1
Sealant D1  

Removal of luggage compartment floor 

Open welded connections in area (1).

Mark severance cut (1) in radius and cut.

Remove luggage compartment floor and rear ventilation end plate.

New part preparation 

Mark new luggage compartment floor in accordance with severance cut on vehicle + 20 mm extra material and cut.

Adjust new part in combination with tail panel to fit and secure.

Set 9 4.2 mm dia. holes for blind rivets in areas (1).

Set six 4.2 mm diameter bore holes for blind rivets in area (1).

Remove new parts again and deburr holes.

IMPORTANT: Do not grind new parts and body in area of bonding surfaces.

Installation of luggage compartment floor 

Clean all  bonding surfaces (1) on new parts and on vehicle with cleaning agent R1!

Apply adhesive to bonding surfaces.

Install new parts and rivet in area (1) with blind rivets N6.

Use blind rivets N3 in areas (1).

Use 4 punch rivets N4 in area (1).

After hardening of the adhesive in area (1), install 1 EMC SCREW .

In area (1) install 3 EMC screws.
