31 12 000 Removing and installing/replacing left or right wishbone

NOTE:
If the wishbone is detached from the front axle support, it is necessary after reinstallation to carry out a wheel/chassis alignment check.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION
Remove jointed rod of ride height sensor on right wishbone.
Release nut (1), if necessary, counter-hold at inner Torx (T40).
Tightening torque 31 12 4AZ .
Installation note:
Keep wishbone to swivel bearing connection clean and free from oil and grease.
Replace self-locking nut.
Release EAR CLIP (1).
Move gaiter (2) onto track rod (3).
Installation note:
Clean rack and check surface for damage (corrosion)
Slacken nut (1).
Tightening torque 31 12 3AZ .
Remove bolt (2) towards front.
Take off wishbone.
Installation note:
Screw head must point in direction of travel.
Replace screw and self-locking nut.
Tighten down bolt connection in NORMAL POSITION .
After installation:
- Perform chassis/wheel alignment check. See ALIGNMENT CHECK WITH VEHICLE LOAD UP TO DESIGN POSITION or ALIGNMENT CHECK WITH RIDE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT (WITHOUT VEHICLE LOAD) .
- Carry out STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ADJUSTMENT
