61 12 004 Replacing positive battery cable (from luggage compartment cable connector to engine bulkhead cable connector)

Read and comply with notes on HANDLING WIRING HARNESSES AND CABLES .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR TRIM PANEL
Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 61 12 3AZ .

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Feed out the vacuum hose (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Unscrew all bolts.

Remove heat shield (3) downwards.

Feed out positive battery cable (1) downwards.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Release cable clip and remove cover (2).

Release cable clip (1).

Unscrew nuts (1).

Remove shaft cover (2).

Release cable clip (1).

Release screws (1).

Remove electronics box lid (2).

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Take the positive battery cable with wiring harness grommet (2) from the electronics box.

Installation note:

Make sure wiring harness grommets (2) are correctly seated in electronics box.

Remove the protective cap (1) from the positive battery connection point.

Slacken nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 12 2AZ .

Remove the positive battery cable downwards.
