51 16 360 Removing and installing right glove box

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

• Remove CENTRAL INFORMATION DISPLAY .
• Remove RIGHT FRESH-AIR GRILLE .
• Remove INSERT FOR GLOVEBOX .

Lever out cover (1) and release screw underneath.

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Unclip light (4) and disconnect plug connection.

E70/71 up to 09/09 only

Disengage Bowden cable (1) on left and right at lock (2).

Installation: 

Carry out function check on emergency release mechanism.

Additionally as of 09/09

• Close lid of glove box (1) to prevent microswitch control from being damaged.

Pull out glovebox (1) slightly.

Disconnect all plug connections (2) and detach cable from glovebox.

Additionally E70/71 up to 09/09 only

• Disengage Bowden cable (3) on left and right at lock (4).

  Remove glovebox (1).

E70/71 up to 09/09 only

Installation: 

Attach Bowden cable head (1) on left and right before inserting glove box, then insert glove box.

Feed in spacer (2).
