65 12 240 Removing and installing/replacing digital radio (IBOC) (US version only)

NOTE: Follow instructions for handling optical fibres, see 61 00... NOTES ON HANDLING OPTICAL FIBERS .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect battery negative lead , see 61 20 900 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD .
Remove luggage compartment panel on side panel on left, see 51 47 172 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FLAP IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM, LEFT OR RIGHT .
If necessary, remove satellite radio , see 65 12 220 Removing and installing/replacing satellite radio (US version only) .

Release screws (1).

Disconnect plug connections (2) and remove digital radio (3) from holder (4).

Replacement:

Remove aerial/antenna splitter. , see 65 12... Removing and installing/replacing aerial/antenna splitter (IBOC) (US version only) .

Replacement:

Carry out vehicle programming/coding.
