Removal & Installation

Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove SRS control unit. See SRS CONTROL UNIT .
Using a 0.008" (0.20 mm) feeler gauge or a very small screwdriver, pry small cover from SRS control unit to expose energy capacitor. Remove screws securing energy capacitor. Remove energy capacitor.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Clean all contacts and install energy capacitor and cover. Install SRS control unit. Activate air bag system. Perform system operation check to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
