How it works
The controller uploads the signals from the buttons. The controller transforms these signals into messages on the K-CAN. These messages are processed by the M-ASK or the CCC, as applicable.
The controller is slid in one of several directions from its home position, to which the controller always returns when released. The significant features of operation are:
- The center is the home position (middle position).
- Slide: To select one of the 4 menus or navigate in the hierarchical menu structure
- Turn: To select the chosen function
- Press: To select the "Settings" menu from the start menu or select a chosen function
2 versions of the controller are available:
- Basic variant
The controller is equipped with an indexing mechanism. The controller has 24 stop positions per turn. The controller can be slid in 4 directions. - High variant (only with CCC)
The controller has variable haptics. The haptics for the rotary motion on the controller are generated by an electric motor. The controller has 8 sliding directions, but only when the function "Destination input with cross hairs" is selected.
Special feature of E87 controller:
The signal from terminal 58g for the buttons (locating lamp) is received by the controller via the K-CAN.
